Selecting the Right Kind of Faucet that Suits Your Needs

Picking the right faucet for your own space is not that easy especially if given tons of selections to choose from. Faucets come in variety of shapes. When choosing the right faucet shape, it is important to consider the type of the faucet, the features that you need, as well as the amount of space available at home.

Single hole, center-set, widespread, and wall-mount are the standard types of bathroom faucets. Single hole faucet has a single lever which already combines both the spout and the handles. This type is ideal for areas with smaller sinks such as powder room baths. On the other hand, center-set faucet consists of a lever (the spout) and two handles. Unlike single hole faucet, the spout and the handles of center-set are not combined. This type is ideal for most bathroom sinks. Kohler offers an array of single hole faucets such as Airfoil, Loure, Margaux, Purist, and Stillness; and center-set faucets such as Archer, LIson, and Sirocco.

A widespread faucet has lever and handles that are separated from each other. The faucet usually has a separate handle for hot and cold water. Some available widespread faucets from Kohler are Archer, Finial, Galatee, Loure, and Oblo. Of all the four types of bathroom faucets, wall-mount faucet has gained popularity because of its freestanding sinks that require longer spouts extending well over the top of the bowl or countertop. Kohler’s Falling Water wall-mount faucet is a perfect complement to vessels lavatories. If you want to free up space in your bathroom, a wall-mount faucet is a good choice. Wall-mount faucets can be attached directly to the wall, clearing your countertop.

In the kitchen it is recommended to use a pull-out or multi-joint faucet. Pull-out faucet features a spray hose that is very handy for those of you who love to work in the kitchen. A pull-out faucet is essential while you’re busy cleaning fishes, fruits and vegetables, washing dishes and pans, etc. Pull-out faucets such as Kohler’s Evoke, Purist, Revival, and Simplice can also work well in the laundry area.

A multi-joint faucet, on the other hand, is designed with several moveable joints. Kohler is known for their Karbon faucet. With five pivoting points, the Karbon offers a total range of motion, placing water exactly where you need it. It is engineered with carbon fiber that enhances its strength and reduces weight. A multi-joint is very helpful especially if you have to run at the other ends of the kitchen. Once you’ve got Karbon in position, it stays right there, keeping your hands free and making tasks at the sink a whole lot easier. It will surely save you time and effort.
